SonRise is an empowered evangelical church . . . that is we are seeking to take the best features that both the evangelical and charismatic branches of the church have to offer, and intigrate them into a fresh, open and uncontrived approach to Christianity. We also identify with the Three Streams Movement currently growing throughout the church. This movement envisions three streams of the church, the Evangelical stream, the Charismatic stream and the Sacred stream flowing into one life giving reservoir to bring refreshment and new life to all who are thristy. On a typical Sunday at SonRise all three of these streams are reflected in our worship gathering we have about 45 minutes of worship consisting of singing lead by our worship team, the Lord's Supper, spontaneous expressions of praise or prayer, and an opportunity to receive ministry for healing. It's a bit different each Sunday. Our goal is to foster an atmosphere where people can become intimate with God, quiet down to listen to Him and experience His embrace. After worship, the children up to fifth grade are dismissed to Sunday School. Then our Pastor or one of the other teachers in the church teaches on a passage of Scripture. After the message the altar is open for people to respond to the message, recieve prayer for physical, emotional or spiritual healing or just be with God. During this time the congregation is dismissed to enjoy coffee and refreshments in the foyer. The whole atmosphere is casual, relaxed and informal.
